A Mountain Home man charged with threatening another male with a knife and beating and kicking him in the face appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday for a review of his case.

Thirty-one-year-old Brian Snow has already entered a plea of not guilty to the charges against him.

The events leading to his arrest began when a Mountain Home Police Department (MHPD) officer saw a suspicious vehicle enter a wooded area near College and Coley streets where he was parked monitoring traffic.

The vehicle passed the patrol car on the driver’s side, and the officer called for the driver to stop.

Instead of stopping, the man, later identified as Snow, sped up and drove into a ditch in order to get passed the patrol car.

The officer went to the backside of the property and found an abandoned vehicle and reported hearing someone moving through the woods, but could not see the individual.

MHPD’s k9 officer was brought to the scene. As officers were beginning to search for the suspect, they received a 911 call advising a male covered in blood had been seen along Gentry Street.

The officers made contact with the victim, and he said a man he identified as “Kenny” Snow had assaulted him and forced him into his vehicle at knifepoint.

The victim was taken to Baxter Regional Medical Center (BRMC) by ambulance for treatment. The officers resumed their hunt for the suspect.

After a short time, Snow emerged from the woods and surrendered. Officers reported detecting the strong odor of intoxicants coming from Snow.

Snow was also taken to BRMC for treatment of what were minor injuries to his hand and foot, apparently sustained while beating and kicking the victim.

Police were able to talk to the victim at the hospital. He said Snow had come to his residence and started an altercation with him. He said he was able to calm Snow and offered to give him a ride home.

When they reached Snow’s residence, the victim reported Snow and his neighbor both began assaulting him. As events played out, the victim said at one point Snow threatened to kill him and “dump” his body.

The probable cause affidavit contains no information on what led to the altercation, how the neighbor got involved in the fracas, or what connection Snow and his neighbor had with the victim.
