
While the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted our daily lives, several Fourth of July fireworks shows are still slated in the Twin Lakes Area to excite and entertain this week.The 35th annual Lake Norfork Fireworks Show kicks off the action on Friday night at 9:15 at its traditional site between the U.S. Highway 62/412 and State Highway 101 Veterans Memorial Bridges.Event Coordinator Shawn Egan says a big show is planned to celebrate the 35th anniversary.

All plans have been approved by health officials for the event to be conducted, Egan says.

For those who can’t attend, technology will make the event available for the public to view from the comfort of their own homes, Egan explains.

For everyone viewing the event, 99.7 The Boot will broadcast, and KTLO.com will stream, coordinated music during the show to enhance the experience.
On Saturday, the annual John G. Eastwold Memorial Fireworks Show at Bull Shoals Dam will take center stage. The event will begin at dusk and is best viewed from the Bull Shoals-White River State Park or the waters of Bull Shoals Lake.
Accompanying the event is the second annual All-American 4th of July Celebration, a fundraiser for the Bull Shoals VFW. A parade is slated for noon, followed by a festival and picnic on the grounds of the VFW. All-American music is slated for 1:30 p.m.
The Salem Chamber of Commerce Fireworks Show is also slated for Saturday at dusk. According to the chamber, the fireworks will be displayed from the top of Salem Knob, which should allow the fireworks to be seen for many miles away and allow the public to easily follow the Arkansas Department of Health’s social distancing guidelines.
At Horseshoe Bend, the annual parade and ice cream social had been canceled for 2020, but the flotilla on Crown Lakes and the annual fireworks will continue. In Theodosia, fireworks will be displayed over Bull Shoals Lake near the Theodosia Marina Resort. Harrison will host its annual Fire in the Sky show, with activities beginning Saturday night at 7. The show will be held in the Anstaff Soccer Complex in downtown Harrison, which contains 10,000 square feet to allow for social distancing.
Bakersfield will host its annual Picnic in the Park on Saturday, July 11, at Pride Park from 5 p.m. until dark, with fireworks to follow. Town-wide yard sales, music, food, games, stands and booths are planned.
