A Fulton County man, 54-year-old Kirk Hutchinson of Salem, is being held without bond following his arrest last month on eight felony drug and weapons charges.
Online court documents indicate Hutchinson and 50-year-old Sarah Lisa Fountain were arrested June 19. The two were taken into custody following a home visit, after law enforcement reportedly received information of drug activity at Hutchinson’s residence over the prior month. Earlier filed court documents indicate Hutchinson’s bond was set at $50,000, while Fountain’s was set at $5,000. However, updated documents now show Hutchinson is being held without bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office conducted the home visit after being advised by a member of the Department of Community Corrections to do so late, because Hutchinson reportedly does not come to the door of his residence.
The officers made contact with both Hutchinson and Fountain and asked if they had anything illegal on their persons. Fountain reportedly advised she did and handed officers a baggie containing a crystalline substance and a glass smoking device. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.
In Hutchinson’s bedroom, officers allegedly found several baggies containing a crystalline substance field testing positive for meth, numerous items of drug paraphernalia and components used in the manufacturing of the illegal drug. They also located a shotgun in the bedroom in close proximity to the crystalline substance.
Fountain has been charged with two felony-level drug-related offenses. Hutchinson is facing eight felony drug and weapons charges, including maintaining a drug premises, manufacture of methamphetamine and possession with purpose to deliver meth.
In February, Hutchinson was sentenced to five years probation after his arrest last September on drug-related charges. He reportedly resisted arrest, and a sheriff’s deputy was injured and taken to the Fulton County Hospital for treatment. You can read the full story by clicking here.
