UPDATE: Northeast Arkansas man arrested after allegedly ‘doing donuts’ in cemetery

A Paragould man, 43-year-old Bradley D. Sweaney, has been arrested and charged, after he allegedly drove his vehicle through a cemetery “doing donuts” and damaging multiple gravestones and grave markers.

According to a Paragould Police Department Facebook post, at approximately 11:38 Wednesday morning, Paragould Emergency Services received a call that a black SUV was doing donuts in Linwood Cemetery.

As officers were en route to investigate, the SUV became disabled and the driver fled the scene on foot. Witnesses were able to provide a description and direction of travel of the fleeing driver, and he was quickly located and detained. Several gravestones and grave markers were damaged in this incident, with estimates being in excess of $25,000.

Sweaney has been charged with 12 counts of destruction or removal of a cemetery or grave marker, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and driving on a suspended license.

He remains in custody at the Greene County jail on a $125,000 cash only bond.
