Fulton County Junior Livestock show continues Friday

While the Fulton County Fair has been canceled, the Junior Livestock Show got underway Thursday and continues Friday at the fairgrounds in Salem.

Following a plan submitted and approved by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, as well as the state Department of Health, youth who reside in Fulton County or attend school in the county will be showing cattle, hogs, sheep and goats.

All health department and CDC guidelines will be followed for the livestock shows.

Many of the animals will be sold at the Junior Livestock Premium Sale at 4 Saturday afternoon in the Everett Show Barn. Exhibitors will have 16 – 18 hogs, and some cattle and goats will be sold.

Businesses and individuals are encouraged to come out and support the Fulton County Junior Livestock Program. Donations are also being accepted for added money to be divided among all of the youth who show in this special livestock event.

Face masks will be required but can be removed if the 6-foot social distancing is observed. Attendees should bring lawn chairs, since the bleachers were removed from the show arena to meet the social distancing guidelines.

For more information on the Junior Livestock Premium Auction, contact the Fulton County Fair Office at 870-895-5565 or a member of the junior livestock committee. Perryman and Perryman Auction Co. will be conducting the sale.
