Race develops for MH City Council with Tuesday filings

The first race in Baxter County has developed on the next to last day of the filing period for municipal offices in Arkansas.

In the City of Mountain Home, there is now a race for the city council’s Ward 4, Position 2 seat. Nick Reed filed for the spot Tuesday setting up a race against Rex “Lynn” Anderson. The seat is held by Eva Frame who does not plan to seek reelection.

Also filing Tuesday for the Mountain Home City Council was Susan Stockton. Stockton filed for the Ward 1, Position 2 seat held by James Whalen.

At Gassville, Anita Seaman filed for reelection to Ward 2, Position 2.

At Cotter, Carolyn Gill filed for Ward 1, Position 1 and Cameron Ross filed for Ward 3, Position 2.

Olivia “Christy” Dobson filed for reelection at recorder/treasurer at Norfork, and Angela Parnell filed for reelection to Ward 3, Position 1.

At Salesville, Carolyn Neel filed for Ward 1, Position 1 and Jared Sorters filed for Ward 2, Position 1.

Heather McNally filed for the Ward 1, Position 1 seat on the Briarcliff City Council, and Tommy Webb filed for Ward 3, Position 1.

No filings were reported from Marion County on Tuesday.

In Fulton County, one filing was reported. Michael Sherman filed for Position 2 on the Viola City Council.

The filing period remains open until Wednesday at noon. Election day is scheduled for Nov. 3.
