Mountain Home High School football fans got a positive preview Thursday night, as the Bombers cruised to a 28-8 victory over the Highland Rebels in a preseason benefit game. First-year head coach Steve Ary’s squad picked up a trio of touchdown runs by Gage Hershberger and a 21-yard keeper by quarterback Bryce McKay, who also passed for 199 yards, as the varsity play one half of football.

Ary says he is pleased with the team’s first outing.

Defensively, the Bombers gave up one score, a long touchdown pass by Highland’s Wyatt Goodman, who took advantage of a busted coverage for the Rebels’ only trip to the endzone of the night.

Ary says his coaching staff will break down the game film to isolate what areas need improvement.
