Big Creek Golf and Country Club’s annual U.S. Open Tournament is scheduled for Saturday at 8 a.m. Superintendent Brent Edens will set the course as close as possible to Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, the site for this weekend’s U.S. Open.
The format has changed for this year’s event. The 18-hole tournament will go from one-mulligan-per-hole to a one-person scramble. The field will be limited to the first 36 players to sign up, and tees are age appropriate.
After Saturday’s round, Big Creek will hold a draft for PGA players that made the cut in the U.S. Open. The highest score at Big Creek will get the first pick, and the draft process will continue, until the player with the lowest score makes the final pick. The player’s Saturday round will be combined with the draft pick’s Sunday round for a combined best ball event.
The entry fee is $20. To sign up for the event, call 870-425-8815, or visit the golf shop and speak with Big Creek pro Todd Dunnaway.
