Big Creek Golf and Country Club members competed in the club’s U.S. Open Tournament. A one-man scramble was held Saturday over the same length of the course as the pros playing the U.S. Open at Mamaroneck, New York.
Andrew Gillespie is the first round leader with a seven-under-par 65. Luke Jackson two shots back for second place, and Kirk Brown and Mike Willard are tied for third at three-under-par 69.
After play, members gathered in the grill and drafted professional “partners” that made the cut at the U.S. Open. Final results were to be a best-ball combination of Big Creek member scores with their pro partners’ Sunday scores.
