Yellville-Summit falls to Hector; Salem beats Riverview

The Yellville-Summit High School lost its first conference game Friday in front of the home crowd. The Panthers fell to Hector by a final of 43-6. Yellville-Summit drops to 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in the 2A-4,and will travel to Bigelow next Friday.

Salem was victorious in its first league game as a Class 3A school. The Greyhounds pounded Riverview 34-8. Salem improves to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the 3A-2 and will head to Melbourne next week.

Melbourne got beat in its conference opener on the road. The Bearkatz ended up losing to Newport by a score of 21-14. Melbourne falls to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the 3A-2.

Mountain View wrapped up non-conference play with another road victory. The Yellowjackets went to Hot Springs and routed Cutter-Morning Star 46-16. Mountain View is now 4-1 on the year, and its conference game will be next Friday hosting Harding Academy.

After their original game was canceled and they scheduled another opponent, Harrison’s Goblins were able to beat Ozark 33-6. The Goblins, ranked fifth in Class 5A by the Arkansas Sports Media, improved to 3-1 on the season, and they’ll host Alma next week.
