The members of the Baxter County Airport Commission meeting in a special session Thursday afternoon approved Dr. Stephen Vester to fill a vacancy in its membership. Dr. Vester was selected to fill a vacancy created earlier this year with the expiration of member Rob Finley’s term.

In other business during the brief meeting, the board, with member Mark Carney abstaining, approved the transfer of a hangar lease. A commission spokesperson says the hangar was constructed in 2012 by the Richard Johnson corporation and granted a 30-year lease. Ownership of the hangar was later transferred to Hasselwander-Freeman Development and then to Bradley Hasselwander. The commission approved the hangar’s lease for the full 30 years requested for its new owner, David Clevenger.
