A local event originally scheduled for two weeks ago will be held on Saturday. The 22nd annual Bakersfest will get underway at 9 a.m. at Pride Park in downtown Bakersfield.

According to the Ozark County Times, the festival was rescheduled from Sept. 19 due to an uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases in Ozark County. Saturday’s event will include a car show, craft booths, music, food a city-wide yard sale and a high school softball tournament. In addition, the West Plains Car Club has changed its normal car show into a Bakersfest-run “cruise-in” car show along Missouri Route AR.

Organizers say Bakersfield residents looking to participate in the yard sale will not need to pay a set-up fee or buy a yard sale permit. There will also be a crossbow raffle, but it’s limited to 125 tickets to be purchased.

Vendors are welcome. Anyone wishing to set up a booth can contact Brian Russell at 417-372-3343.
