New K-9 officer joins Harrison Police Department

The Harrison Police Department has announced the arrival of K-9 Officer Bady. Bady is a 17-month-old male Belgian shepherd (Malinois).

The Harrison Police Department reports in a Facebook post Bady was born in the country of Slovakia, before being sent to the Netherlands for training. He was brought to Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, to Shallow Creek Kennels. Bady met his handler, Patrolman Ryan Guffey, and they became close partners.

After six additional weeks of training, Bady and Patrolman Guffy were certified nationally as a team. Bady is certified as a dual purpose K9.
