MHJH, Salem volleyball teams post wins

The Mountain Home Junior Lady Bomber volleyball team stayed hot with a 25-19, 25-21 victory at Marion on Monday evening.The Junior Lady Bombers are now 8-1 overall and 7-1 in conference play. Mountain Home returns to action, when it hosts Greene County Tech on Thursday evening.In the junior high junior varsity match, Mountain Home was a 2-0 winner by scores of 26-24 and 25-15.

The Seventh Grade Lady Bombers suffered the only setback on the evening with a 25-9, 25-18 loss.

In varsity action, Salem dropped the first two sets, only to win three straight to post a 3-2 victory over Cedar Ridge to improve to 8-6 on the year.

Salem fell 18-25 and 26-28 in the first two sets, but came alive to win the final trio by scores of 25-12, 26-24 and 17-15.

Hannah Guffey led Salem with six kills, one block and four aces, while Sam Guiltner recorded 18 digs, and Maddy Miller had 10 assists. The Lady Greyhounds are 8-6 on the year.

Salem won the junior girls’ match by a score of 25-9 and 25-8. Allyson Tanner and Alli Smith had five aces apiece for the Junior Lady Greyhounds, who improved to 12-2 on the year. Salem won the junior high “B” match by a score of 25-16.
