Salem volleyball wraps up conference play with sweep at Alpena

The Salem volleyball teams wrapped up conference play with a sweep at Alpena Thursday night.

In the senior high match, the Lady Greyhounds were 3-0 winners, winning by scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-23 to improve their record to 10-6 overall and 8-6 in conference play.

Kyla Stevens finished with nine kills; Hannah Guffey had five kills and two assists; Maddy Miller finished with eight digs, three assists and two aces; Samantha Guiltner collected 40 digs; Mackenzie Hill had eight digs, three kills, three assists and two aces; Grace Benedict finished with seven digs and three assists; Erica Tudor served four aces; and Pilar Rasado had two kills.

In the junior high match, Salem topped Alpena by scores of 25-7 and 25-21 to win the 2A North Conference championship. The Junior Lady Greyhounds are now 14-2 overall, and they finished 12-2 in league play.

Maddie Keen had eight kills and three assists; Olivia Smith finished with 32 digs, three assists and three aces; Callie Call had eight kills; Chloe Taylor served six aces; and Marleigh Sellars had three kills.
