A pair of area high school softball teams began district play on Monday.
West Plains was victorious in its opener in the Class 4, District 5 Tournament at Marshfield. The Lady Zizzers eliminated the host Lady Jays 13-9. West Plains improves to 19-8 on the season.
Branson watched its season come to an end in the Class 4, District 6 Tournament at Monett. The Lady Pirates fell to Neosho 13-2. Branson’s final record is 9-19.
