
The Mountain Home Pilots youth football program came away with one win playing three games Saturday at Highland.
The third grade game was the lone victory for Mountain Home, as the Pilots defeated Highland 18-6. Hudson Speers scored all three touchdowns for the Pilots on runs of 70, 35 and 35 yards. Mountain Home improves to 2-0 in the ARK-MO league.
The Pilots’ fourth grade squad did not fare as well, as Highland came up with a late pick-six for a 30-20 win. Conner Gentry had two 30-yard touchdown runs and a pair of two-point conversions for Mountain Home, and Grady Sheehan added a 60-yard scoring run. The game had a total of four lead changes. The Pilots fall to 2-2 on the season and 0-2 in the league.
The day ended with Mountain Home’s fifth and sixth graders falling to the Highland sixth grade team 46-0. The Pilots drop to 2-2 on the year and 1-1 in ARK-MO.
Mountain Home will play its home opener on Saturday when it meets Thayer. Those without a child on the team looking to attend the game should send an email to mhpilots@yahoo.com. The number of spectators will be limited due to COVID-19 guidelines. Social distancing and masks will be required.
