The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will host a drive-up testing session for COVID-19 Wednesday from 10 to 2 at the Baxter County Fairgrounds in Mountain Home. Testing will be allowed for up to 200 community members with no out-of-pocket cost.
UAMS will conduct testing in cooperation with Baxter Regional Medical Center, the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, the City of Mountain Home, the Baxter County Safety Office, the Mountain Home Police Department, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield and the Bank of America Foundation.
It is not required to be a UAMS patient to receive a test. Patients will be instructed on how to take care of themselves and their families at home. Results will be returned through an online patient portal, a letter or a phone call.
Flu vaccinations will also be available to those receiving a COVID-19 test. Vaccines will also be available at no cost.
