MH football team to play at Siloam Springs, rest of schedule

High school football makes up much of the local Friday schedule, as Mountain Home has its second consecutive road trip. The Bombers will head to the northwest corner of the state, as they meet Siloam Springs.

Mountain Home is 3-4 on the season and 1-3 in the 6A-West. The Bombers are coming off a loss at Benton. Siloam Springs is also 3-4 and 1-3. The Panthers were pounded last week by Lake Hamilton.

Mountain Home head coach Steve Ary says there is a lot riding on Friday night’s game.

Kickoff at Glenn W. Black Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Coverage begins at 5:30 with Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday.

The 6A-West schedule includes a pair of teams in the Arkansas Sports Media Top 10, as fourth-ranked Greenwood hosts No. 8 Benton. Elsewhere, Russellville entertains Little Rock Parkview, and Van Buren travels to Pearcy to meet Lake Hamilton.

Yellville-Summit will be on the home field for the final time of the regular season. The Panthers will welcome Magazine to the Twin Lakes Area.

Yellville-Summit is 2-5 on the year and 1-3 in the 2A-4. The Panthers picked up a 17-point win last Friday at Conway Christian. Magazine is 4-2 and 3-1. The Rattlers are coming off a 12-point win over Quitman.

Kickoff at Panther Field is set for 7 p.m.

Also in the 2A-4, Hector makes the trip to Coal Hill to face Johnson County Westside, Quitman is home against Bigelow, and Conway Christian heads to Mountainburg.

Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem travels to Mountain View, Melbourne hosts Harding Academy, and Harrison makes the trip to Morrilton. Marshall’s eight-man team will wrap up its regular season entertaining Trinity Christian.

There is one other Arkansas Sports Media Top 10 matchup this week. Top-ranked Bryant is home against No. 7 Cabot.

This will be the final week of the regular season in Missouri. Among area schools, West Plains hosts Bolivar, Hollister entertains Springfield Catholic, Forsyth is home against Springfield Central, Branson hosts Republic, Ava entertains Willow Springs, Mountain View-Liberty heads to Houston, and Thayer is home against Mountain Grove.
