If you missed paying your personal or property taxes by the Oct. 15 deadline in Baxter County, you can expect a bright green postcard from the Baxter County Collector’s Office this week. Nearly 5,000 post cards have been mailed to those who are delinquent on their taxes.
County Collector Teresa Smith says if you haven’t paid yet, there are several reasons to get it done quickly.
The interest rate on unpaid property taxes is 10%, which Smith says can add up fast.
Smith says the nearly 5,000 delinquent accounts is roughly 17% of those who pay taxes in the county, but the number is below average.
Anyone with questions about their taxes in Baxter County may call the collector’s office at 870-425-8300 or pay their taxes online at baxtercounty.org and click on “pay taxes online.”
