A woman caught “cheeking” pills in the Baxter County jail and using them herself or trading them with other inmates in a type of medication swap meet pled guilty to the charges against her Thursday.
During a session of Baxter County Circuit Court, 25-year-old Ariel Beck of Mountain Home was given 10 years probation on a charge of furnishing, processing or using prohibited items.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Beck would “cheek” her medications when they were distributed and save them for later.
The pills would then be crushed. Beck was alleged to have “snorted” some of the crushed pill and used the others to trade with inmates for different types of medication.
Beck was also reported to have been in possession of paraphernalia, including a blue paper tube, used to snort the crushed pills.
