Authorities have identified the two men killed in a plane crash Monday in Izard County as 70-year-old David Rottman of Lonoke and 44-year-old Lucas Parker of Conway.Izard County Chief Deputy Charley Melton told KAIT in Jonesboro the plane crashed near Franklin after leaving the Baxter County Airport en route to Walnut Ridge. The 1978 Piper PA-38 Tomahawk began its flight plan departing from Carlisle in Lonoke County.The crash was reported around 2 p.m., with residents calling 911 to report a low-flying plane and hearing a crash shortly thereafter.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed the single-engine, two-seat aircraft was owned by the Arkansas Pilot Development in Lonoke. The NTSB and the Arkansas State Police have taken over the investigation.
