Shooting in Clarkridge area leads to domestic violence charge for Missouri man

An alleged shooting incident late Tuesday morning in the Clarkridge area resulted in injuries to a female victim and the arrest of a Missouri man. Thirty-five-year-old Anthony Thurman of Thayer is in the Baxter County Detention Center on felony counts of first-degree domestic battery with serious injury and possession of a firearm by certain persons, meaning he is a convicted felon.

Baxter County 911 dispatch received a call from the victim just before noon from a residence along Somerview Drive. A Baxter County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says the incident was domestic violence-related with the victim having been hit in the side by a “couple of small pellets.” The spokesperson says the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Thurman’s bond is set at $75,000.
