MH gets 1 win in 4 junior high games at Nettleton

Mountain Home came away with one win in Jonesboro Thursday in four junior high basketball games with Nettleton.
The freshmen girls’ contest went down to the wire, with the Junior Lady Bombers getting edged out by the Junior Lady Raiders 29-28. Parker Huskey led Mountain Home with 13 points. The Junior Lady Bombers fall to 4-1 on the season.
Mountain Home did not fare any better in the freshmen boys’ contest falling to Nettleton 32-26. The Junior Bombers drop to 1-3 on the year.
Mountain Home’s lone victory was in the eighth grade girls’ game, as they topped Nettleton 24-15. The Eighth Grade Lady Bombers’ record improves to 3-1.
The Mountain Home eighth grade boys lost to Nettleton 30-24. The Eighth Grade Bombers were led by Ryder McClain with 18 points.
The boys’ teams will host Harrison on Monday, and the girls’ squads will travel to Harrison.

Yellville-Summit had one win hosting Salem for four junior high games. The Junior Lady Panthers had the only victory in the junior girls’ game, as they topped the Junior Lady Greyhounds 40-29. Salem took the junior boys’ contest 34-24, the seventh grade boys’ game 31-15 and the seventh grade girls’ contest 13-4.

Viola’s junior high teams ended up splitting with Izard County.
The Junior Longhorns were able to take the boys’ game. Viola defeated Izard County 37-21.
It was a different result in the girls’ game, as Viola fell to Izard County 37-21. Quinn Johnson was the Junior Lady Cougars’ top scorer with 15 points, and McKenzie Yancey added 10.

On the high school level, Flippin’s boys picked up an easy win, as they beat Deer 86-58. Paul Hart paced the Bobcats with 24 points, Dale Smyser scored 21, and Devyn Payne chipped in 13.

The Mammoth Spring girls ended up losing to Jonesboro Westside 54-51. The Lady Bears were led by Sara Crowe with 23 points. Mammoth Spring will host Harrison on Monday.

Omaha’s boys had a rough outing at home, as they fell to the New School 63-42. Devon Wolf was the Eagles’ leading scorer with 16 points, and William Gray finished with 12.
