MHCA wins 2 of 4 Saturday in Harrison

Mountain Home Christian Academy came away with two wins playing four basketball games Saturday at Harrison.
The varsity boys were the only team to play Northwest Arkansas, as the Eagles came away with the 79-47 win. Trenton Cox led Mountain home Christian with 27 points, Gideon Spray scored 18, Jordan Woods had 12, and Landon Jines added 11 points.
Mountain Home Christian’s varsity girls did not fare as well, as they fell to Eagle Heights Baptist 45-35. The Lady Eagles were led by Naomi Spray with 15 points, and Erika Krueger chipped in 10.
Mountain Home Christian took the 14-and-under girls’ contest 33-29 over Eagle Heights Baptist. Olivia Spray was the 14-and-under Lady Eagles’ top scorer with 16 points, and Caroline Robinson finished with 11.
In the 14-and-under boys’ game, Mountain Home Christian ended up losing to Eagle Heights Baptist 46-30. Dawson Bingham led the 14-and-under Eagles with 12 points.

Dora’s girls finished the week as the runners-up of the Fordland Invitational Basketball Tournament. The Lady Falcons fell to Chadwick 54-48.
The Lutie boys came up just short in the fifth place game. The Indians lost to New Covenant Academy 52-48.

The Melbourne High School teams had mixed results, as they hosted Pottsville. The Lady Bearkatz topped the Lady Apaches 58-41. Melbourne’s boys fell to Pottsville 58-54.
