One person was shot and died and another was wounded at a Brinkley residence Thursday. Special agents of the Arkansas State Police (ASP) have been assigned to lead the investigation and search for a suspect.

Officers of the Brinkley Police Department contacted ASP about 5 p.m., after they found the crime scene inside a home at 13 East Willow Street.

Kaleisha McNeil, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. Tavious Alexander Palmer, 26, was transported to a Memphis hospital and is reported to be in serious condition. Both McNeil and Palmer lived at the Willow Street residence.

Special agents of the ASP Criminal Investigation Division developed leads and collected evidence overnight at the crime scene, leading them to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Chadwick Reed, 37, of 111 North Brinkley Avenue, Brinkley.

Reed is charged with murder, aggravated assault, first-degree battery and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.

McNeil’s body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to confirm a manner and cause of death.
