
Members of the Captain Nathan Watkins Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will be hanging handmade wreaths to honor veterans of various wars who are buried at the Mountain Home Cemetery on Saturday afternoon at 1.
The local chapter held its first ceremony last year at the cemetery as a service project. Veterans from six wars are buried in the Mountain Home Cemetery.In last year’s ceremony, seven wreathes were place on the graves of Ken Trammel (World War II), Robert Jones (Korean War), Ray Ramey Jr. (WWII), John Winkler (WWII), Agnes Cramlet (WWII and Korean), Leslie Pascal Jr. (Vietnam War), and Nelson E. Darrow (Spanish-American War).This year, 14 wreathes will be placed, including last year’s honorees, and seven new veterans will be honored.
The 2020 honorees are: Chapman W. Bodenhammer (Civil War), Samuel Fleming (Spanish-American), Hosea R. Alley (World War I), Myron J. Alman (WWII), Jay Baker (Vietnam), Larry Barker (Vietnam War) and Peter Jacobelli (a veteran of three wars).Family and friends are invited to help hang wreaths. Masks and social distancing are required.
