Small earthquake reported north of Viola

The United States Geological Survey  (USGS) reports a small earthquake occurred late Sunday morning in Fulton County. The earthquake measured 2.2 on the Richter Scale and occurred nearly 3 miles north of Viola at 11:49 a.m.

The USGS also states the quake was over 23 miles east-northeast of Mountain Home and over 21 miles south-southwest of West Plains. Earthquakes measuring 2.5 or less are generally not felt by humans.
