A few local high school basketball teams began holiday tournament action on Saturday.
Gainesville’s boys won their opener in the Cabool Holiday Tournament. The Bulldogs defeated Eminence 57-40, and they’ll be paired with Norwood on Monday.
Lutie did not fare as well in the opening game of the tournament. The Indians fell to top-seeded Thayer by a final of 73-33.
Lutie’s next opponent on Monday will be Dora. The Falcons lost the second game of the day 61-42 at the hands of Mansfield.
Gainesville did not fare as well in the Mountain Grove Girls Holiday Tournament falling to Mansfield 52-42. The Lady Bulldogs will move on to the consolation side of the bracket and play Houston on Monday.
Dora started the tournament on a good note topping Plato by a score of 60-45. The Lady Falcons will return to Mountain Grove on Monday, when they take on top-seeded Salem, Missouri.
