COVID-19 good news overshadowed by 40 additional deaths

Friday’s COVID-19 report from the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) indicates 1,360 fewer cases than this time last week with higher testing.However, Gov. Asa Hutchinson says the good news is overshadowed by the loss of an additional 40 of our friends and neighbors.

Gov. Hutchinson says, “We all have a responsibility to our friends and neighbors to help slow the spread, and I hope you’ll join me as we continue to fight this invisible enemy.”

In its Friday update, the ADH reported 2,944 new cases; 27,290 active cases; 1,342 hospitalized, which is up 16 from Thursday; 219 on ventilators, which is up one from Thursday; the 40 additional deaths brings the total to 3,966; there has been a total of 248,860 cases; and 180,851 recoveries.

The report notes 11,010 PCR tests have been performed, along with 3,743 antigen tests.
