The boys’ game began the evening, as the Bombers fell to the Eagles 63-43. The game was back and forth throughout the first half. There were eight lead changes and four ties between the two teams, and Mountain Home was up one at the break. Vilonia’s scoring really picked up in the second half, and they pulled away from the Bombers by going 15-of-16 from the free throw line in the final quarter.
Wyatt Gilbert led Mountain Home with 32 points. For the Eagles, Graham Middleton scored 17 points, Harrison Janski had 14, and Jarkell Lovelace added 10.
The Bombers fall to 5-7 on the season and 1-2 in the 5A-West. Vilonia improves to 9-3 and 2-1.

The night wasn’t any better for Mountain Home’s girls, as they lost to the Lady Eagles 60-37. The two teams exchanged leads four times in the opening quarter. The fifth lead change went in Vilonia’s favor in the second quarter. The Lady Bombers tied the game up twice later in the period, but the Lady Eagles then went back on top for good. As the game went on, Vilonia was able to pull further away, as they went on to post the 23-point win.
Mountain Home was led by Addison Yates with 16 points. Clara Grace Prater finished with 14 points for the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Bombers drop to 2-12 overall and 1-2 in the league. Vilonia is now 13-1 and 3-0.

Mountain Home’s next games are yet to be determined. The Bombers and Lady Bombers were scheduled to host Van Buren on Friday, but the games were postponed. Mountain Home’s next scheduled games are Tuesday at home against Russellville. If any other games are added before then, we’ll let you know on KTLO, Classic Hits 101.7 and ktlo.com.
