An Ozark County teen has been arrested on two outstanding warrants, with one connected to a charge of tampering with a reported stolen vehicle.
Douglas County Sheriff Chris Degase says in a social media posting 19-year-old Newt Souder of Wasola was arrested in Ozark County Jan. 15 on the two outstanding warrants from Douglas County.
Sheriff Degase says the first was a felony warrant for tampering with a motor vehicle that was investigated by a Douglas County deputy in early March last year. The deputy recovered the vehicle that had been stolen out of Ozark County.
Bond for Souder was set at $1,500 cash or surety.
The second warrant was for failure to obey a judge’s order, after Souder was arrested by a Douglas County deputy, following the teen being found in possession of methamphetamine and prescription pills.
