The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) has issued a boil water notice for portions of the Fulton County Water Association.According to the ADH website, the impacted area covers Baker Berry Lane, Fairview Road North of Baker Berry Lane and Young Road to include Douglas Valley Road, Ridge Wood Trail and Eagle Spring Trail.

The order placed on a portion of the Calico Rock Waterworks system last week remains in place. The area covers the portion of the system west of State Highway 5.

Both orders are the result of waterline breaks.

ADH says under the boil notices, impacted customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption. Water used for drinking or food preparation should be boiled briskly for one minutes prior to use.

All ice cubes should be discarded. Only boiled water should be used for making ice.

The notices will be lifted by ADH when two sets of bacteriological samples indicate the water is free of bacterial contamination, and an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system.
