MH boys finish 2nd in Class 5A state wrestling duals

The Mountain Home High School boys’ wrestling team had a good showing in the Class 5A state duals Saturday at Russellville. The Bombers came away as the runners-up, with Greenwood taking the state title.

Mountain Home began the day by doubling up Hot Springs Lakeside 54-27. The Bombers had individual wins from Aidan Richey, Joseph Pierski, Lawson Stockton, Brayden Daniel and Elijah Lagg.

Mountain Home followed with a 53-22 win over Sylvan Hills. The Bombers’ individual victories came from Lagg, Drue Lindsey, Ross McDonald, Michael Davis, Ethan Munden, Austin Callies, Stockton and Daniel.

Mountain Home advanced to the championship match and fell to Greenwood 63-13. The Bombers had wins from Isaac Donais, Callies and Pierski.

Both Mountain Home teams are preparing to host the 5A-East Conference Championships at the Hangar. The girls will hit the mat Friday at 3:30, and the boys’ action starts Saturday at 10 a.m.
