
The Cotter High School boys’ basketball team had a short but tough road trip Monday. The Warriors suffered a 64-33 loss at the hands of Flippin.
Yellville-Summit was able to pick up a three-game sweep hosting Decatur.
The Lady Panthers had an easy win, as they routed the Lady Bulldogs 70-9. Jacey Davenport led Yellville-Summit with 18 points, Abby Methvin scored 12, and Kaylee Martin added 11.
Yellville-Summit also took the senior boys’ game over Decatur 41-35. The Panthers were led by Holiday Derosier with 12 points, and David Derosier chipped in 11.
The evening began with the junior boys’ game, as Yellville-Summit pounded Decatur 36-8. Landen Keiter was the Junior Panthers’ top scorer with 11 points.
Izard County’s junior boys were able to advance to the title game of the 1A-2 District Tournament edging out Greers Ferry West Side 44-41 in overtime. Jude Everett paced the Junior Cougars with 14 points, Xander McCandlis had 13, and Noah Mosley finished with 13. Izard County improves to 12-4 on the season.
