Tuesday basketball schedule includes MHHS hosting Vilonia

Basketball makes up the local Tuesday schedule, as the Mountain Home High School teams have another home outing. The Bombers and Lady Bombers continue conference play facing Vilonia.
Mountain Home’s girls are 3-18 on the season and 2-8 in the 5A-West after topping Van Buren on Saturday. Vilonia, ranked 10th overall and fourth by the Arkansas Sports Media, routed Alma on Friday to improve to 19-2 and 9-1. The Lady Bombers fell to the Lady Eagles 60-37 on Jan. 12.
The Mountain Home boys are 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the league coming off a win over Van Buren during the weekend. Vilonia is 14-5 and 7-3 after beating Alma four nights ago. The Bombers lost to the Eagles 63-42 nearly a month ago.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 4:45 at Bomber Gymnasium. The varsity contests will get underway around 6 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Also in the 5A-West, Greenbrier hosts Russellville, Siloam Springs travels to Alma, and Van Buren makes the short trip to Greenwood.

Elsewhere on the high school level, Cotter heads to Eureka Springs, Norfork’s boys entertain Calico Rock, Flippin travels to Decatur, Yellville-Summit is home against the Arkansas Arts Academy, Ozark Mountain makes the trip to Clarksville, Gainesville entertains Fordland, the Lutie boys are home against Dora, Salem heads to Mammoth Spring, Izard County’s girls host Riverside, Melbourne will send two girls’ teams to Marmaduke, Marshall entertains Maumelle Charter, Valley Springs is home against Green Forest, and Omaha travels to Alpena.  The boys’ game between Bakersfield and Alton has been cancelled.

Izard County’s junior girls will be at home for their semifinal game in the 1A-2 District Tournament. The Junior Lady Cougars take on Concord at 7:30.
