MH building permits come roaring back with almost $16 million in construction

After a quiet month in December with just nine building permits issued in Mountain Home for a total construction value of $1.4 million, activity has come roaring back. Information just released from the City of Mountain Home indicates 26 permits were issued in January with a construction value of almost $16 million, according to a report from Jeannie Anderson from the Building Inspection Department.

Three of the permits have construction values in excess of $1 million. The three were

– a remodel permit issued to Gregory Company on behalf of Baxter Healthcare, located at 1900 Arkansas Highway 201 North, for a 48,000-square-foot project with a construction value of $8 million;

– an addition permit issued to Nabholz Construction on behalf of Baxter Regional Outpatient Surgery Center, located at 624 Hospital Drive, for a 12,270-square-foot project with a construction value of $3.7 million; and

– a remodel-addition permit issued to Stone Bridge Construction on behalf of First Community Bank, located at 310 U.S. Highway 62 East, for a 9,106-square-foot project with a construction value of $1.5 million.

Ten of the permits have construction values of more than six figures. The ten were

– a new single family permit issued to Michael and Monica Dewey, located at 801 Oak Ridge Drive, for a 3,984-square-foot project with a construction value of $511,000;

– a remodel permit issued to Gregory Construction on behalf of Ballard and Company, located at 668 U.S. Highway 62 East, for a 9,271-square-foot project with a construction value of $335,000;

– a new single family permit issued to Zachary Coan for a project located at 2012 Osage Lane, covering 2,693 square feet with a construction value of $260,000;

– a permit issued to Gage McIntosh for a fourplex, located at 1005 Waverly, covering 2,736 square feet with a construction value of $200,000;

– four permits issued to Hammerhead Contracting on behalf of Chad Hudson for triplexes located along the 300 block of East First Street, each covering 2,775 square feet with construction values of $180,000;

– a permit to T&E Construction on behalf of Leisure Homes for a duplex located at 1913 and 1917 Maumee Court, covering 3,592 square feet with a construction value of $172,000; and

– a sign permit to Pinnacle Sign Group on behalf of Century Bank of the Ozarks, located at 2448 U.S. Highway 62 East, with a construction value of $160,000.

Thirteen other permits rounded out the list for January. The 13 were

– a permit to T&E Construction on behalf of Leisure Homes for one side of a duplex, located at 1940 Maumee Court, covering 1,796 square feet with a construction value of $86,000;

– a sign permit issued to Cupples Sign Company on behalf of North Arkansas Electric with a construction cost of $62,300;

– a permit for an addition issued to James Zucker on behalf of Anthony Thannisch for a project located at 1700 Greenbriar Drive, covering 336 square feet with a construction value of $60,000;

– a remodel permit issued to Mark Bertel for a project located at 609 South Baker Street, covering 650 square feet with a construction value of $30,000;

– a permit for a storage building issued to Mickey Hoggard for a project located at 109 Woodsdale Court, covering 648 square feet with a construction value of $4,000;

– a sign permit issued to A2Z Signs and More on behalf of Brad’s Home Entertainment, located at 40 Plaza Way #220, with a construction value of $3,500;

– a sign permit issued to Harrison Sign Company on behalf of Medi Save Pharmacy, located at 116 Arkansas Highway 201 North, with a construction value of $2,800;

– a storage building permit issued to Derksen Portable Buildings on behalf of John and Janice Segress for a project located at 1725 Pinetree Lane, covering 336 square feet with a construction value of $2,100;

– a storage building permit issued to Dale Anthony for a project to be located at 1918 Fuller Avenue, covering 100 square feet with a construction value of $2,000;

– a sign permit issued to A2Z Signs and More on behalf of Superior Title Services, located at 114 East Ninth Street, with a construction value of $1,800;

– a remodel permit issued to Vickie Francis for a project located at 1106 U.S. Highway 62 East with a construction value of $1,700;

– a storage building permit issued to Melvin Brack for a project to be located at 1728 Plantation, covering 100 square feet with with a construction value of $1,568; and

– a sign permit issued to Dijohn Designs on behalf of The Call, located at 800 Arkansas Highway 201 North, with a construction value of $650.

Total construction value of the 26 permits issued in January was $15.8 million.

The cost of all permits issued for the month of January totaled $27,723, including the actual cost of building, electric, mechanical and plumbing permits, as well as mowing fees.

The city building and inspection department handled 79 inspections for the month.
