MH mayor to present State of the City Address Thursday

Mountain Home Mayor Hillrey Adams will present the State of the City Address when the council meets Thursday evening at 6 in regular session.Three additional items of new business are on the agenda, including Mountain Home attorney Ted Sanders speaking in behalf of an amendment to an ordinance to change an area zoned as Residential R-1 to Commercial C-2A. The location of the property is not identified on the agenda.

Under the city’s zoning ordinance, C-2A is defined as “commercial neighborhood district.” Permitted uses include funeral homes, some restaurants and retail sales. The retail service use in this district cannot be open for service beyond 10 p.m. or before 6 a.m.

The council will also be asked to approve an ordinance waiving competitive bidding and authorizing the purchase of two trucks. The request is being made by Alma Clark, Water & Wastewater director.

The council will also be asked to approve a miscellaneous list of auction items at the request of Mayor Adams.

The meeting will be held in the council chambers of the Mountain Home Municipal Building.
