A pair of local high school basketball teams competed Saturday on the opening day of district play.
Bakersfield’s girls won their opener in the Class 2, District 10 Tournament by topping Summersville 52-38. The Lady Lions will play at Gainesville in Tuesday’s semifinals.
The Lutie boys watched their season come to an end in the Class 1, District 4 Tournament. The Indians suffered a 56-47 loss at Bradleyville.
