A Mountain Home man charged with receiving a shipment of methamphetamine was sentenced to 14 years in prison during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.
Forty-four-year-old David Barry Liner was arrested and charged after a delivery company became suspicious of a package addressed to him.
Company representatives contacted investigators in mid-May last year regarding the suspicious shipment. A drug dog alerted on the package in question.
A search warrant was obtained, and investigators found a substantial amount of methamphetamine inside.
Another shipment of methamphetamine addressed to Liner was seized in the May 2020 time frame, when officers met with personnel from the delivery service. Four packages were set out, and a drug dog alerted on one addressed to Liner.
Investigators obtained a search warrant and discovered a plastic grocery bag in the box containing a white crystal-like substance.
According to the probable cause affidavit, one shipment contained almost 200 grams of methamphetamine.
Liner has a number of criminal cases going back to 2006, most drug related.
When he appeared in court Monday, there were four active criminal cases opened on him last year.
His plea in the case stemming from the delivery of the methamphetamine covered all of the charges filed against him in the 2020 cases, plus a probation revocation action filed in a 2017 case.
