High school basketball makes up much of the local Friday schedule and includes the start of the postseason for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will both be in front of the home crowd for their openers in the 5A-West District Tournament.

Mountain Home’s girls begin the night as their opponent will be Van Buren. The Lady Bombers ended the regular season at 4-20 overall and 3-10 in the 5A-West after falling in overtime at Russellville on Tuesday. The Lady Pointers improved to 9-15 and 3-10 with a four-point win at Alma. Mountain Home won the tiebreaker for the No. 6 seed by sweeping Van Buren during the regular season.
