In October last year, a Pulaski County Circuit Court judge’s ruling officially ended the collection of an annual assessment fee enacted in 2017 as payment for the debt incurred to purchase the NABORS waste hauling operation and landfill in Baxter County.
Prior to the judge’s ruling, an $18 annual assessment fee against each residence and business parcel in six North Central Arkansas counties has been collected for the tax years 2017, 2018 and 2019.
In addition, Smith says there are no millage increases reflected on this year’s tax statements.
The mailed statements represent the bulk of the correspondence headed to Baxter County property owners. But for those who have opted to receive electronic billing, Smith says those 6,400 property owners will receive their electronic statements between Monday and Wednesday next week. It’s an option more and more are taking.
