Three area basketball teams played their district openers Monday in Missouri.
West Plains’ girls won their semifinal game in the Class 5, District 9 Tournament topping Helias Catholic 52-45. The Lady Zizzers will host Marshfield in the championship game on Friday.
The Forsyth boys watched their season come to an end in the opening round of the Class 4, District 11 Tournament. The Panthers fell to Willow Springs 61-51.
Branson’s boys were eliminated from the Class 6, District 11 Tournament. The Pirates lost their semifinal game to Ozark by a final of 69-62.
