The Baxter County Quorum Court has an 11-item agenda to consider when it meets for its March session Tuesday evening at 6.
In addition to routine housekeeping matters, the quorum court will consider a four-page state-mandated budget cleanup ordinance.
Also on the agenda is an ordinance that if approved would allow the county to conduct business with Benny Magness, who serves as a pilot for the sheriff’s department’s helicopter. The ordinance would allow for the purchase of used electronic equipment to be installed in the helicopter to make it compliant with Federal Aviation Administration regulations. The ordinance notes the request is being made “due to the unusual circumstances, and difficult to find appropriate goods, services and commodities.”

The court will also be asked to appropriate $22,152 into the 10th Judicial District court budget to cover the county’s share of the salary of the district court judge and six Mountain Home city positions.

An appropriation of $35,000 is being requested for the sheriff’s office to purchase an insert cage for the prisoner transport van.

Five resolutions are on the agenda regarding confirmation of Judge Mickey Pendergrass’ appointments to the county planning board and various fire protection district board of commissioners.

The meeting will be held in the second floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse. To view a livestream of the meeting, click here.
