MHHS soccer teams sweep Alma to begin league action

The Mountain Home High School soccer teams began conference play on a good note, as they went on the road Friday and swept Alma.

The Bomber boys shut out the Airedales 4-0. James Douglas led Mountain Home with a hat trick, Gage Slaughter scored the other goal and dished out two assists, and one assist each was provided by Jack Sheaner, Chris Matusiak, William Bevel and Curt Allen. In addition, Luke Darracq recorded seven saves.

Mountain Home also blanked Alma in the girls’ contest 2-0. Both goals were scored by Kenzie Hatman in the second half. The Lady Bombers improve to 1-2 on the year and 1-0 in the 5A-West.

Mountain Home did suffer a 2-0 loss in the junior varsity boys’ game. Robert Dover recorded three saves for the JV Bombers, and Asher Adams added two saves.

Both of Mountain Home’s junior varsity squads will host Mountain View on Monday. The varsity teams will entertain Greenbrier on Tuesday.
