There is no word yet on when property auctions conducted annually by Arkansas’ Commissioner of State Lands Office will resume.

According to the agency’s website, the 2021 auctions have been canceled through June 30 due to the ongoing pandemic. Earlier, auctions were canceled in 2020, as well.

The office’s director of public affairs tells Arkansas Business these two years in total represent about 28,000 parcels statewide that would have been sold at auction.

While the Commissioner of State Lands Office does not have tax amounts available for the 28,000 parcels, the director of public affairs says in 2019 about 1,300 parcels were sold representing over $1.2 million in taxes.

The office is serving customers online, by email to land@cosl.org, or by calling (501)324-9422.
