
Thursday was a successful day for the Mountain Home High School track teams in Heber Springs. The Bombers and Lady Bombers both won the Panther Relays.
Individually for Mountain Home’s boys, Dalton Schaufler won the long jump and triple jump, Brody Patterson won the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles and finished fourth in the triple jump, Whit Lawrence won the 3200-meter run with a season-best time and took second place in the 1600-meter run with a personal record, Andrew Westphal was second in 800-meter run and fourth in the 1600-meter run, Bryson Hodges ended up second in the 400-meter dash and fourth in the 800-meter run, Tyler Firment took fourth place in the 3200-meter run in a season-best time, Anderson Hodges finished fourth in the 800-meter run, Gage Lindsey was fifth in the discus with a personal record, Daniel Brayden ended up fifth in the pole vault with a personal record, and Lawson Stockton took fifth place in the 400-meter dash. In addition, the team of Patterson, Bryce McKay, Anderson Hodges and Westphal won the 4×400-meter relay; Bryson Hodges, Firment, Lawrence and Anderson Hodges won the 4×800-meter relay; Tatem Beshears, Brady Barnett, Schaufler and McKay finished fourth in the 4×200-meter relay with a season-best time; and Beshears, Landon Speer, Stockton and Gage Lindsey were fifth in the 4×100-meter relay with a season-best time.
For the Lady Bombers, Marcie Cudworth won the 1600-meter run with a personal record, Kylee Sabella won the 100-meter dash and had a pair of personal records as she ended up second in the triple jump and third in the long jump, Kinsey Taylor took second place in the pole vault with a personal record, Emily Payne finished second in the 800-meter run, Lauren Chafin was second in the 100-meter hurdles and third in the 300-meter hurdles with a pair of personal records and ended up fourth in the triple jump, Leah Hunt took third place in the 3200-meter run with a personal record, Emma Wilber finished third in the high jump with a season-best height, Cayden Jones was third in the discus and fifth in the shot put, Jordan Ritenburg ended up fourth in the 1600-meter run, and Riley Schmitz took fourth place in the long jump. The team of Chafin, Kendall Carter, Schmitz and Sabella won the 4×100-meter relay; Payne, Cate Jackson, Chafin and Kamryn Mullin won the 4×400-meter relay; Payne, Ritenburg, Hunt and Cudworth won the 4×800-meter relay; and Carter, Schmitz, Sabella and Jackson finished third in the 4×200-meter relay. All four relay teams finished with season-best times.
