
The Mountain Home junior varsity baseball team began the Ozarks Baseball Classic on a positive note Friday in Harrison. The JV Bombers beat Grove, Oklahoma, by a final of 3-2.
Trent Jordan was Mountain Home’s starting pitcher going 3 1/3 innings, striking out eight batters and giving up three hits, a walk and no earned runs. Bryce McKay had a hit, two walks, a run and an RBI for the JV Bomber offense.
Flippin’s team had a rough outing, as it continued hosting the Forrest L. Wood Memorial Tournament. The Bobcats fell to Piggott 10-6. The Mohawks also beat Valley Springs on Friday.
Mammoth Spring was able to dominate on the baseball diamond. The Bears pounded Alton, Missouri, 14-4. Mammoth Spring improves to 2-2 on the year and will travel to Maynard on Tuesday.
