Another road closure has been announced by Buffalo National River officials. Newton County workers will perform road construction on 1.8 miles of Cave Mountain Road (NC 9560) beginning Monday.
The zone will start at Arkansas Highway 21, and the closure will be in effect Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 to 5. The road will remain open on evenings and weekends. Construction is estimated to be completed on April 9.
Locations along the road, including the U.S. Forest Service-managed Whitaker Point Trail (Hawksbill Crag) can still be accessed via Arkansas Highway 16.
