The Norfork Brewing Company is featured in the 2021 Arkansas Grown, A Guide to the State’s Farms, Food, & Forestry. Arkansas Grown is a publication of the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.

The Arkansas Grown program, administered through the Arkansas Department of Agriculture (ADA), began in 2012 to help promote the many agricultural products that are grown here in Arkansas. The program is often used to help make the critical connection between producers and consumers.

In the latest publication, Arkansas Grown tells the story of Jason Aamodt, the brewery’s founder, who was raised near Lake Placid, New York, where it is as rural as the Ozarks.

After earning degrees in chemistry and biology, Aamodt completed law school in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

While working for a Dallas law firm, he was invited to a fishing trip on the White River by an appreciative client.

He was immediately hooked (pun intended) and became a regular at a Norfork campsite, where legends such as the ‘world’s largest brown trout’ are told.
